Choate has its own application process, which is mostly done online and includes some kind of "multiple intelligences" survey- I don't remember the details. That's probably why they don't want to be part of a common app. There was an article recently in the paper about the new "8 schools" group- the one that Taft, Loomis and Hill were dropped from, and Northfield Mount Hermon joined. The headmasters, athletic directors, technology directors etc. meet regularly to discuss issues and collaborate. One of the groups met recently at Choate. Someone could probably find the article in the Choate News if they searched. It gave a pretty good description of the purpose of the "8 Schools Association."
