| I was just asking because dorm life seems very different for girls than for guys IMO. Girls seems to have a more 'sisterly' bond with the other girls in their dorm. From what I hear, every dorm has its share of loudness and parties. Holmes has the biggest rooms and the best location as it is close to Harcombe (dining hall), the library, Death Valley, and classes. I haven't been in Johnstone, but the building is old, ugly, and set to be torn down in the next few years. The Shoeboxes are very close to Death Valley and Fike. The rooms have tiles floors, but each room does have its own sink. The high rises are farther from Death Valley and Fike, but are near the library and Schiletter (dinning hall). These rooms are carpeted, seem larger than the Shoeboxes. Also, the Lever bathrooms were nicer than the Shoebox bathrooms I have been in. I'm not sure if I really answered your question though. Is there anything more specific you would like to know?
I am actually staying in Calhoun Courts due to a mixup with the housing department. It is nice having my own kitchen, bathroom, and living room, but I do envy my friends who have the 'hall experience'. Luckily my roommates are cool (I came here with one of them), but we don't talk to our neighbors much, whereas in dorms most people know their hall-mates pretty well.
Congrats to both of you for receiving the finalist notification. |
