Accolades at practice lessons

My "D" just went for sample lessons for vocal performance at two important, highly regarded musical schools. She had four sample lessons where she received highly flattering reviews from all of the professors and was encouraged to go into vocal performance as opposed to music education because her talent was so great. The professors indicated that she was unusually talented. We were rather taken aback by these accolades because my daughter's music teacher never spoke in such glowing terms. Has anyone had similar experiences. Should we take this seriously -- should this change our strategy? Should we change teachers? Has anyone had experience with being deceived or mislead by such advice?
