Yes, my son started quite young in attending regional college information sessions, and we did that because I was not too aware of colleges of the kind he might be interested in. (I had earlier attended general college fairs on my own to research the issue of college admission for homeschooled students.) I have found the regional meetings useful for keeping my son's application list broader--he truly doesn't have a single "dream" college, but is open to applying widely and seeing what happens.
