| If you are interested in the vocal performance or musical theater programs, pursue them separately. I am a current applicant to both the school of music and drama at CMU and made this decision because when i went to the Pre-College MT program this past summer, they made it very clear that you must be accepted through an audition into the MT program, which is a four year program. So even if you got in for vocal performance, you would have to wait a year and audition with all of the other incoming freshman and be considered an equal to those applicants. So don't try to take a back door in. I would not advise it.
