Yes, spring break will make a difference: The campuses are likely to be empty of college students, which means you and your D won't have a chance to interact with college students except for the tour guides. You'll miss out on more candid comments that you get from students who aren't paid or asked to be guides due to their sunny perspectives about the college.

You also won't be able to sit in on classes or talk with professors, something that you should try to do at the other colleges that you'll visit.

When you're on campuses, do get copies of the campus newspapers, which will help you find out more about the colleges from a student perspective.
