*sigh* if you want to join IBD at an investment bank it does not matter what you major in.

If you want to do S&T, it is beneficial to have taken courses in multi-variable calculus, statistics, probability and derivatives...you will find that certain desks, such as structuring, tend to have a large concentration of math, engineering, physics and economics majors. while others have a greaer variety due to a lessened focus on higher level math.

You will find majors ranging from sociology all the way to engineering in IBD and S&T at a Bulge Bracket investment bank.
