It sounds odd to me as well. The host family claims, "The amount of food he ate at each meal was equal to six people." The kid's parents say he never mentioned he was starving because of "Stockholm syndrome." The Committee for Safety of Foreign Exchange Students said exchange programs are rampant with instances of abuse and neglect and this was "not an isolated incident." Now the kid wants to build homes and trails in Zimbabwe. Eating disorders are not a common method of attention seeking for boys but perhaps this young man is an exception...
