aaviolinist- My son is a Hartt grad, BM viola performance '07.

edit: in reading your post above, I now think you were referring to a Vandy rather than Hartt scholarship. If so, my comments below have no bearing.

The return to campus competitive audition scholarship at Hartt I think that you are referring to is the Hartt Performance 20/20 honors chamber ensemble, which is a full tuition audition based scholarship THE HARTT SCHOOL: MUSIC-DANCE-THEATRE

The program is extremely competitive, and consideration is based on the admissions audition. It is also given/structured to maintain a mix and blend of instruments. During my son's time involved, it averaged around 25 students, undergrad, grad and doctoral. In the past, those selected were notified at the time of their initial audition if they were in consideration. Historically, the actual 20/20 auditions had been held sometimes in March. I do not know if they have revamped the timing.

My son did not make the cut initially, but auditioned his way in in his third year (of a five year program) and played with some truly amazing musicians with exceptional coaching. If your student does not make it now, the potential exists to reap the benefits at some point if Hartt is her choice.

Hartt also awards other talent based scholarships based on audition results and placement. For reference, my son's initial award was half tuition over his five year program. These awards are included in your acceptance letter package.

You might want to contact the Hartt admissions office and verify if 20/20 auditions/notifications have indeed happened.

Please use this thread for its intended purpose, notification and posting of acceptances. Specific questions are best addressed in a new topic or an existing related thread. Thanks all.
