CaliforniaLife gave good advice.

If you are doing this just because it sucks to see all your other friends go on to good colleges and you're stuck to just going to a CC being dissapointed around graduation, then use that motivation to stick out one tough year at a CC.

Doing it all in one year has its advantages, people tend to get lazy at CC at one point during their 2 years, i know I did.

Maybe you can just squeeze out a really efficient 1 year and get into LA that way. 2 years is bullsht seriously, take into account you'll most likely miss out of precious dorm years, which are 2 years generally but UCLA offers third years dorming options too.

Btw you must be full on dedicated, especially if you want to go to UCLA under COMM. you need to have a 3.5 just to be considered, zero room for error.
