I've been spending time in all of the UC forums since my daughter applied to 6 UC's--no rejections yet, fortunately--but I've been amazed/disheartened by the stats of students rejected from Santa Cruz & Davis. Admissions for these schools have traditionally been pretty straight-forward and this year the rules seem to have changed, big-time! I don't know how much of this is resulting from the current budget crisis and how much is due to the enormous numbers of applicants. I feel very sorry for some of these students, and it won't be any prettier next year. Furthermore, who's to say how much the budget crisis will affect the CSU system.
