I read the whole thread to see if anybody mentioned Spot Shot, and here it is on the latest post! My cleaning lady started using it on all her houses after she tried mine. I also use it on kitty spots.
In Germany they use very few chemicals. It was hard to learn how to clean without my favorite products. I learned from my neighbors - the absolute best and easiest way to wash windows, mirrors, and other glass, is to wipe it down with plain water, and dry with a microfiber cloth. No streaks, very clean! So much easier than Windex!
They control shower mildew by squeegee-ing the shower after every use. It didn't work so well for me - I still had to attack spots. But I think I shower more often than they do.
