College Discussion - View Single Post - How far below the maximum words should/can you go?

I would think that colleges would prefer a slightly shorter essay, since they have to read hundreds of these a day. I think 500/750 sounds pretty good.
But hopefully a more experienced member of these boards can give you better advice.
