| No. In my opinion, GPA & transcript is a better reflection of a student than SAT or ACT.
The SAT is not a comprehensive test of a student's knowledge and ability, while from an applicant's transcript and GPA you can see their course load, their strengths and weaknesses, their successes (or failures), the breadth of their academic background, infer about work ethic, and see if they challenge themselves.
A high GPA would indicate consistency and diligence. And it's probably more impressive than doing well on the SAT. Not that the SAT isn't important. |
