my stats:
GPA: 3.9/4.0 UW
SAT: 750 (Math); 720 (Writing); 800 (Reading); very bad essay.

SAT IIs: 720 (Math II); 780 (Korean w/ listening); 760 (literature)
Rank: 12 of 636
Full-IB; 5 HL classes this year.
Essays: Decent for Common App, not particularly inspired. "Why Reed?", on the other hand, was a risky one...it was a love letter, of all things! Soooo embarrassing now that I think about it...
Graded writing sample: Oddly enough, this was my least favorite part of the application. All of the decent, typed ones were not commented on, so I sent a paper from fall semester (junior year) that just screamed, "I'm pants at writing analytical papers! I'm a bundle of inexperience!"
Recommendations: I haven't asked to see them, but I think that my first teacher's rec. letter was fantastic! (I firmly believe it was 75% responsible for landing me a scholarship at another school) The other was probably great, but not as glowing. Counselor's letter was probably good.

Description of school: Public, fair size, suburb, pretty laid back (but still has superb students), IB program (and 1 AP class) offered.
Ethnicity: Korean-American
Gender: Female
Hook?: I'm the generic, violin-playing Asian girl. I have no idea why Reed wants me.
