New College DECISIONS

Well, every other college as a thread like this, and it looks like the NCF board is about to die, so I thought I would make one of these for the class of 2008. Maybe it can help the 09ers guessing their chances too.

Decision: ACCEPTED

UW GPA: 3.87
W GPA: 3.7-4.0 (Not sure, but somewhere in that range)
Residency Status: Florida Resident
Interviewed: Yes
SAT: 1370 M+V 1990 Overall
M: 690
R: 680
W: 620
ACT: 32
M: 33
R: 34
E: 33
S: 28

AP Classes: Only one, AP Environment, Senior year. My school actually offers a lot. There is no IB program.

Scholarship: Yes, Bronze Scholarship. $1,000 per year. I applied early when scholarships were guaranteed.

Other college admission decisions:

U-Miami: ACCEPTED- With Dean's Scholarship

UCF: ACCEPTED- Also admitted to Burnett Honors College with Pegasus Bronze Scholarship

UF: REJECTED (Appeal Pending)

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: ACCEPTED with invitation to James Scholar program

Northwestern: REJECTED (Yeah, it was a real long shot)

Additional Notes: My essay was about my learning disability and overcoming it. Because of the nature of NCF, admissions are more private/Ivy like. The overall person and ECs play a greater role than they do at other public institutions. That means your essay can make a difference at NCF! I feel that's what got me admitted because of my lack of AP classes.
