| Princeton has an excellent music department, nice facilities (including practice rooms); it offers subsidized lessons from a list of adjunct faculty); it offers a "certificate" program in music in the junior and senior years, which is like a minor. There are performance opportunities and some talented musicians there, but the academic demands are substantial, including junior and senior theses ("the quintessential Princeton experience"), so it would be tough to double major. Some students apparently take lessons in NY, but it would be a challenge to do so on a weekly basis, and costly too. |
