| UAmom,
I'm not home right now and am on a break. Maybe I can write more later. My quick answer is that my D absolutely LOVES ETW!!! She chose to go into this studio (could have stayed at CAP which she has loved very much as well). You are right that there is still dance and voice in this studio and particularly in later semesters with many electives (which is not how CAP is set up). Also, singing classes are not limitted to the MT genre. I know that there is a lot of physical work in the acting. There are opportunities to put on your own productions as a senior (if your D stayed in this studio). Are you going to the Sat. in the Square event? There are student reps there from each studio as I recall and particularly at the receptions and definitely talk to them. My D thinks ETW is an amazing place. She hopes to write and put on her own musical there next year. I do know that students in any studio can take private voice. My D, this semester, is in something called ETW Transfer track and there are students from all the studios in her 15 member group. After this semester, she chooses the studio classes. Try to read the ETW site and then try to talk to current ETW on campus if you go. Right now, my D is in Boston performing and is not at NYU to help out here. |
