SDSU had an 11.4% acceptance rate for their 2007-2008 admissions. They recieved 61,000 apllicants and accepted only 7,000.

that isn't exactly correct, first of all, the only group that has reported 61,000 applicants is sdsu themselves, every other institution i have found reports that ucla had the record number of applications this year with 55,000, so clearly people are either igoring sdsu's claim to the record number of applicants, or they are merging their transfers, graduate, and undergraduate applications all into one number or something to that nature

if you can find another source other than sdsu that cites that there were 61,000 first time undergraduate applicants, please let me know

second of all, they are anticipating about 7000 to enroll... they didn't accept only 7,000

if you take a look at the student population, there are around 30,000 undergrads, divide that by 4 classes plus any people going into their 5th and 6th years, you will get 7,000 students per class, so they are right on target for this year compared to the size of any other class that sdsu has had

make sure you get your numbers and percentages right...

*Edit* I clearly jumped straight to the quick reply without reading on to see other people ridiculing this statement. Sorry for being repetitive.
