PS--S's essays were articulate, and well-written but not overly exciting or original. He excels at academic writing, but not creative. So, that could have been a weakness to be sure.

I stopped checking that thread I started, but most people thought that the Ivies were pretty on target with their admissions selections, though there were occasional exceptions.
