My daughter is a freshman MT student at UArts. Acting and MT students take Acting Studio classes together so to that extent I can comment on the Acting program. My daughter has found the acting classes to be demanding but rewarding. She feels that she has grown tremendously in even the short time that she has been at UArts. Two of her closest friends are a sophomore and freshman in the acting program and could not be happier with their experience. We have seen both of them perform in some emotionally rich and complex 1 acts and have been very impressed with the focus, credibility and content of their performances.

As Broadwaywannabe mentioned, UArts' location is a mecca for theatre students. There are no less than 8 performance centers within a 5 minute walk of each other and the school on Broad St. Add to it 2 additonal theatres a 10 minute walk away and other theatres located within 20 minutes walking distance. UArts students are surrounded by Broadway show touring productions, local major show productions, local original productions, experimental theatre, major ballet, opera and orchestral companies, the list of opportunities seems endless. At night, the streets are filled with students and young professionals taking advantage of all that the city has to offer.
