As someone mentioned, Johns Hopkins has a double degree program whereby you could major in math at the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and pursue a performance degree at Hopkins' Peabody Conservatory. It is an excellent program but not for the faint of heart. Both degrees require a serious committment and doing both at once is a considerable challenge. Peabody's website has some excellent information talking about the pros and cons of the dual degree program. Performance degrees are really designed for those who aspire to a professional music career---not those who simply like music. For someone who is less than fully committed to a dual degree---Hopkins students who qualify by audition can take performance classes at Peabody without pursuing a degree there.
