| My backup university if UChicago. I won't reallly mind going there. it's a good school and all, but really, Caltech is the right place for me. I definitely will be able to accept it if I don't get off the waitlist, but a part of me will definitely be disappointed, and probalby for a very long time to come.
When I emailed my counselor after being deferred, I didn't recieve a confirmation back. Then, about a month later, I received an email from him stating that they had not received any updates from me and was wondering if I would still like to be considered for admission. Of course, that does'nt mean that they haven't received your emails, but it might be wise to call and confirm this. The odds are they did receive them, but it's kind of a big deal (presumably) if they haven't. I have also recently had trouble with some of my professors receiving my emails, so when I emailed my counselor with updates after i was waitlisted, I asked if he would confirm that he received my email b/c I didn't want a repeat of what happened when i was deferred.
