Chances are excellent with some research into
1) the stats of the schools attempted
2) the possibility of SAT Optional schools (since student has 3.5) and the school may not be looking for the gifted
'critical thinking'/fill in the bubble standarized test kind of high performer.

FairTest.org has a huge list of Test Score Optional schools.
