Have you tried "signs" at Northwestern, DePaul or Roosevelt? I assume you've mentioned your desire to sell to your teacher and any bass players you can find. Word of mouth will save the $$$ to the middleman!!

Do you have a current appraisal for the bow? If we were talking violin bows, I know I'd insist that S see a current appraisal from a reputable shop before I'd encourage him to go far in looking at a purchase.

Depending on the value of the bow, various Chicago instrument dealers may (or may not) be interested in consignment. If they will take it, I wouldn't expect the bow to sell quickly (if at all) and they will take a hefty percentage cut. Dealers have much more incentive to sell their own "stock" rather than consignments.
