Dear XXXX,

It is my privilege to inform you that your application for admission to Rice University has been approved. The Committee on Admission invites you to complete arrangements for entering the University in August.

Rice is fortunate in receiving applications from a great many students of unusual promise. Selecting from so many qualified candidates was a difficult task. Admission has been offered to a select few, like you, whose scholastic accomplishments and contributions to school, community, and family were significant.

Transfer students must be registered in residence at Rice for at least four full semesters and must complete no less than sixty semester hours. Your intellectual life will be marked by our commitment to the finest in teaching and educational resources. It will be a period of growth that will serve you throughout your lifetime.

Your hard copy admission packet was mailed April 25, 2008. To accept this offer of admission, submit your enrollment deposit online by May 12, 2008. Your Login and PIN are below. In addition, we urge you to carefully read all of the information in your admission packet and to follow the procedures required for your matriculation.

(Payment instructions)

Information about off-campus housing opportunities, the Rice Student Handbook, and the transfer orientation schedule will be mailed under separate cover. After we receive your deposit, we will send your residential college assignment. While we are unable to offer you housing in a residential college at this time, you will enjoy all the other privileges and associations of being a member of a residential college at Rice. In the meantime, you may choose to be wait-listed for on-campus housing and obtain information about off-campus housing options from our Student Director of Orientation, Megan Hermance. She can be reached at 713-348-2813, or by email at Megan.E.Hermance@rice.edu.

Congratulations for the personal and intellectual achievements that led to your acceptance to Rice. If we can be of further assistance to you, do not hesitate to let us know.

Yours sincerely,

Julie M. Browning
Dean for Undergraduate Enrollment
