| I'm not sure what school you are planning to attend, but I can only speak for Berkeley. The L&S department will only raise your unit cap from 130 to 136 for double majors. Essentially, you need to plan really carefully, take a full load each semester, and finish as many prereqs as possible before you transfer. It's possible, but unfortunately its difficult for transfers since we have less time to get these things done.
From what I've heard, they won't directly kick you out if you go over the cap, but they will begin putting pressure on you to finish. There's a good chance you will lose your financial aid and they might put a hold on your registration unless you file a petition. Of course, if you are willing to go through the bureaucracy and argue your case you might be able to avoid sanctions. But, you'd be better off just planning well than having to deal with that. |
