Is there a way of knowing position on the waitlist? How strong is the desire for the waitlisted program? Are the two instructors/overall programs very close in terms of fit? You may not get great financial aid/scholarship money from the waitlist, a consideration if finances are a factor.
Depending on how you/son would answer some of the points I've detailed, you could always call the waitlisted school, explain you have to commit to school B so as not to lose a scholarship; they should be able to ballpark your chances of getting admitted off the waitlist. |
