Firsttimelisa: I felt the same way when I was helping my daughter in NC. I looked at all the stats and began to worry. In the end she got into all of them, which leads me to be suspicious about their stats, or....and this may open a whole new can of worms...the NC state schools (except Chapel Hill) are only 1% or 2% Asian American. My daughter is Asian-American. Could that have been a factor?
Anyway, my point really is that the state schools may be easier to get into than you might think. However, I don't know the differences between the SUNY's and the UNC's.
