| Honestly, it depends on what you mean by "intoxication." If you mean two drinks (btw, if you decide to start drinking, PLEASE at least look up what one "drink" is equal to, and how much that will impair you), you probably won't get addicted or anything. But the more you drink, the less you realize that you're drinking too much. Drinking lowers your judgment; you probably won't realize how drunk you are while you are drunk.
It is worth considering that around 75% of rapes occur under the influence of alcohol (whether it's the rapist or the victim or both).
IF you get caught, you are kind of screwed, but you seem smart so, honestly, you'll probably avoid getting caught. There is a reason that there's a legal drinking age (IMO it should be 18, but still). Alcohol is a drug. It will probably make you throw up, make your throat burn, and make you do stupid things (even if it's just making a fool of yourself by dancing like an idiot on top of a table).
If you decide to drink, and be around drinkers, these are some things to keep in mind:
* Anything more than 5 drinks is alcohol abuse, and that is when things start to get SERIOUSLY dangerous (i.e. alcohol poisoning). Do not leave anyone alone when they are this drunk, as they could very possibly hurt themselves.
* If someone drinks themselves to semi-conciousness, it is a real possibility that they could choke on their own vomit. Yes, that is gross, and yes, people actually die that way. A lot. Lie them on their side.
* It doesn't sound like you'd be in this situation, but driving while drunk is the stupidest thing you could ever do. If someone who's drunk gets into a car, do anything in your power to stop them. Slash their tires if you have to. They may be ****ed at you, but they won't be dead.
* If someone is drunk enough to pass out, they are very. close. to getting alcohol poisoning, which can kill you. Seriously.
If you are going to drink, you are still responsible for the consequences of your drunken actions. If you are going to drink, know what you're doing to your body. Know the legal consequences if you get caught. Know the risks. Don't do it blind.
The one thing that ticks me off more than anything is people doing drugs because they're "rebellious." Real rebels live. A rebel speaks out against the system, dyes their hair purple, dares to live long enough to screw over the oppressors. If you have the urge to take dangerous risks, fine, but don't call yourself a rebel because of that. It gives the rest of us a bad name. |
