This is really the wrong place to ask a question about doing anything that won't sacrifice your freedom and exposure to sunlight .

First, I'm very disappointed to see the word 'rational' being tossed around here. There is no rational reason to drink. However, there's no rational reason to fall in love, either, and I love my girlfriend! What should I do with that?
There are certain aspects of life that don't make sense. Riding roller coasters, skydiving, driving fast cars, etc., none of that makes any rational sense, but we do it all because it's hella fun. I'm going to be honest, if I was at a party with someone who only wanted to do the rational, I'd probably ignore them all night.

All that aside, and just throwing a nice little twist into this post, I can't really say I recommend drinking. That's just a personal thing. It's just so inconvenient and I'm not a big fan of the hangover. Sometimes I have a great time, sometimes not so much. I drink maybe once a fiscal quarter but really not much more. I've also smoked a little weed, and a little more frequently than drinking. I like it a little more; I like the experience and the convenience and the lack of an aftermath on my body. I don't really do that much any more either, so now I'm actually pretty sober.
I would still recommend trying it at least once, but I see no reason to do it as a freshman. I don't think it's important whether or not you decide to drink this summer, but the reasons behind your decision. If you decide against it because it isn't rational, enjoy your path on becoming the most boring and lonely person you'll ever know
Lulz, full of fail. Unfortunately, these kind of posts actually resonate with some people...
