Have you researched the strength of each individual department of each university on your list, both in terms of research and teaching (note that teaching would be a LOT more important on the undergraduate level)? Have you talked to students to see how satisfied they are with their academic experience?
My point is: Your list is mostly based on the reputation of these universities. Since nobody here has enough time to research every university in-depth, any vote we could give would be mostly based on a university's reputation, which is well-known anyway. Any ranking of this sort would just reinforce general preoccupations instead of producing new insights.
I think that students should attend a university where they would be happy, not the one with the best reputation. For people who care about rankings, there are already enough rankings out there (e.g. USNews, League Tables). Comparing British and American universities is like comparing apples and oranges because they pursue two different missions on the undergraduate level. |
