| CMU is such a great school!!!!! Have no regrets, kitkat!!
Man, I missed a lot; that's what I get for sleeping!!
S was 9 lbs and a month early; still had glistening fine fur all over, torso, legs, arms, face. Water broke, labor induced, epidural (yee-haw!), forceps. The doctor pulled him out and plopped the wet, screaming kid on my stomach in one smooth motion, with the command, "Hold this!" barked at me. I'd been happy to be pregnant and loved my baby while still in utero, but seeing him that first time, holding his slippery self -- teary just thinking about it. Like falling off a cliff into a deep well of motherlove. He was the beautiful thing I'd ever seen; I couldn't get over it.
Thank goodness, because the news this morning that he hadn't done last night's math homework.....! Grrrrrr. AND he tells me that he doesn't have to study for tomorrow's math test, because he already knows all the material. My reply, "So I can expect that you'll get a 90 or above, right?" "No, Mom, that's impossible!" Yeah, right. You'll be studying tonight, kid!
At 2 weeks, his head circumference was 36.5", at 12 months, he weighed 30 lbs, 10 oz., and at 14, he's 6'1". Maybe more, because I swear, some days it looks like he got taller overnight. He was a huge baby (looked like The Hulk next to others), toddler, kid. I learned he could read when he was 22 months old; he was sitting in his high chair. Don't know when he started. Hyperlexic; goes with the neuro-non-typical wiring in that kid's head.
Party day today! You all have your grass skirts for the luau, yes? |
