European College of Liberal Arts in Berlin (ECLA) also teaches classes in English, but has no departments. Students study philosophy, politics, history and literature. They're quite unique and they're the only liberal arts school in Germany. Until this year, they are doing summer program, 1-year/2-year program but they're extending to a 4-year degree program next year.
The school's really small, around 40 kids per year, and they come from 20 different countries. The teachers come from quite prestigious institutions (mostly Harvard, UChicago etc.) and their graduates seem to proceed to really good schools later on. |
