| The ones I was iffy on:
Fundamental change in US econ during WWI. I said it changed from a debtor nation to a creditor nation (cuz ****loads of european nations owed us money, but i guess we've been extending credit to latin america for some time... but i figured it made more sense than becoming the largest steel producer, since steeltown was aroung in the 1870s, maybe it was the reduction of tariffs, which i thought was irrelevant given high level exports and low level of imports.)
1860 Election. Lincoln got majority of electoral votes (eliminating choice d) but also won cali and oregon, (eliminating the thing about solely carrying the north) but is till thought it was legit.
not sure about what the New Negro is (i didn't think it was back-to-africa since that was marcus garvey) but wiki seems to indicate strong african nationalism (so maybe choice a: demands to be social equals to whites) and also seems to rule out assimilation (although hurston and hughes attended barnard and columbia respectively)
what happened during the civil war, i was stuck between nat'l banking system (seems to be the right answer) and abolition of racial segregation (didn't make too much sense but the other options were whack)
i got the ? on the hudson river school wrong, damnit art questions.
and what was not a provision of the treaty of versailles? it appears to be the formation of czech-slovokia which seemed to be the automatic confederation of the european elements on the former austria hungary empire. i picked reconstruced poland (thought it was an intentional misdirection to world war II) but i looked up the original doc and it has about a solid page on the redefined borders of poland where as it spends about two lines acknowledging the existence of czechslovkia. |
