Annika, once again, unless you have experienced a situation that tested your morality in the same way I have, you lack credibility in your insights. There is a big difference between doing the right thing, and doing something knowing you won't get caught doing. Even the most ritcheous individuals have been known to commit great sins in their life time and get away with it until they come clean themselves. In some respects, this essay may be looked at as controversial (as other posters have called it), or simple decision making (like you say). The fact of the matter is, because there are two different views as to how this essay may be looked at, I have been rejected from some of my safeties but have been accepted to some reaches/gotten scholarship from schools that were considered matches. All in all, my guidance counselor adored it, and a Harvard graduate was inspired by it. When an admissions counselor compares this essay with an essay about someone's dead father, the latter is more likely to receive an acceptance letter.
