so racerboi, I totally understand your math if the question really asks about it being multiplied by three, then the interpretation of any ONE language as picking either German or Italian (2 of the three numbers must be equal) will give you 6. However, I thought that it said that there were three MORE german speakers than italian speakers total. So that would be adding three instead, and if you set up a system of three equations and solve than the picking ONE language (german or italian) to be equal to the number of speakers of both give you 9 instead. Do you think it was adding three or multiplying by three?
