On my Compaq Presario (A64 3200+) laptop, voltage levels fluctuated with CPU demand. I could set the voltage manually but most of the time I didn't bother. With the new MacBook Pro, I have over five hours of battery life compared to about 100 minutes with my old laptop. I could get about 120 minutes underclocking it. Some of the next generation MID devices or notebooks based on the Atom processor should be able to do eight or more hours on a charge.
I'm planning on picking one of these up to leave around in the living room. Intel can't keep up with the demand for these chips right now from gadget manufacturers. |
