| I'm a geography major and I had trouble finding information about it or even other people who were in the major, especially on this forum.
The major has a really short list of prereqs (Geo 1 or 2, and Geo 3, 4 or 5, and Statistics 10 or 13). I've found that there are two sets of disciplines amongst in the Geography department, human and natural geography. Natural geographers like to look at the world's processes and examine the human impact on the world, this is slightly more scientific. On the other hand is human geography and understanding cultural and social factors. This is the best way I can describe the two categories of class but you are welcome to take whichever ones you want.
The geography department is pretty good and theres some really interesting classes and instructors. I'm taking Geography 132 this quarter and it's solely about Food and Agriculture. Very interesting stuff... |
