| it is a good decision on their part because they get to watch you forever and ever. It's not so good for you, for obvious reasons i.e. awkwardness of parents with date. Plus, you're having to bother your parents in the first place. Do they honestly want to pick you up at midnight/whatever time the dance finishes-wouldn't they rather go to sleep?
To allay their fears, maybe promise them that you'll be back at a certain time. Perhaps mention that you would like to go to Denny's or IHOP at midnight with friends to grab a bite (dunno if this is something you would do or not), and that you'll call to check in with them at intervals. Maybe ask them exactly why they feel so concerned about your well-being. Unless you are an unsafe driver (which in your case is not true), the whole safety thing should be a non-issue. It's just your parents insecurities (not dissing at all, just saying...) |
