Having both tax and financial aid experience, the advice taxguy was given should be retitled: "How to hide your assets from the Federal Government." Shifting money into "non-reportable" assets is very dishonest...financial ad is for those who truly need the assistance, not those with a 6 figure income who have managed to squierrel away their savings into "hidden" accounts.

Also, spending down all available cash/assets: instead of spending it down, why not use it to pay the tuition costs?? Otherwise, you are advising them to reduce your debt so you can take on more debt. ::::shaking head:::::what ever happened to being totally honest? When did we lose that value in American society?
