| Many universities have serious problems with violence and substance abuse. Yet many of these universities choose to sweep their problems under the rug. Possibly the universities are worried about receiving lower rankings. Possibly the universities don't want to have to expel students from privileged backgrounds who can pay full price. Obviously, none of these reasons are valid.
It's encouraging to see that San Diego State University chose to address its problems instead of trying to hide them from public view. |
