I discourage any accelerated programs like these

When I was in high school in SC, the only medical school was in Charleston and that time there was a perceived shortage of physicians statwide. A 6 yr combined program was established with most of the colleges in SC. I participated in it and I would never do it again. The degree of maturity required to do this is so much more essential today than it was 30+ years ago when I did it that I am surprised this type of educational track is even still available. Because I missed so many normal college experiences that assist in the maturation process, I was in woefully over my head to start medical school at age 20! My fraternal twin sister did the same program and she also wishes she had not done it this way.
A middle school student is just clueless on how arduous doing this would be, and she really needs to think long and hard about all that she would have to give up by doing this type of track.
