| DD1 had 12 colleges on her list - 6 reaches, 4 matches and 2 safeties. Luckily she got into 1 safety, 1 match and her #1 reach by Dec. 15th so she ended up sending in only 3 more applications (all to reaches) so she could compare financial packages.
If your reach schools are all highly competitive to get into, (less than 15% acceptance rate) you might want want to apply to more of them to hedge your bets. Fit is the most important though - don't apply because of prestige. The novelty will wear off very quickly. |
