My highschool NJROTC CO (a retired Navy LCDR) keeps suggesting that I check out USMMA. I've politely told her I prefer to apply for USNA c/o 2013, but she has asked me to at least look into USMMA c/o 2013.

I'd like to ask any of you who chose USMMA instead of USNA what helped make up your mind? Besides the 3rd class license you get when you graduate, if you want to have a long career in the Navy, why would a person choose USMMA instead of USNA? I'm trying to be open-minded now.
