Mudd just isn't a pure LAC. It doesn't fit well in either of the two main categories (LAC or University). For this reason it gets screwed in rankings and is ranked lower than it should be. I don't think many informed people really believe that schools like CMC are better
institutions than Mudd. They might be better
LACs, but that's just because Mudd really isn't a pure LAC.
