| i'm really tired right now, but i will say that barnard does have more of a "college" feel. i noticed this most recently at their radio station spring concert. just very little red tape, security that didn't seem to give a **** if kids were openly drinking on the lawn, and bands that played right through from noon to midnight. contrast this with the bureaucratic cluster**** of a spring concert that columbia tried putting on earlier that same week, with very limited access to the student center, overpriced booking, and security guards overseeing the event for misbehavior -- it just reeked of large scale bureaucratic university paternalism. of the few courses i've taken over at barnard, it's definitely a "friendlier" experience. then again, i've also found barnard girls more likely to flake out on you at the last minute. many times over. |
