But see, you can be short, sweet, simple and to the point in one page, or ten pages...its depends on what your point IS. And that's what the page limits (on either side) are supposed to give you a sense of, as I understand it. For the same generally topic, there are tons of different theses you could write about...one of the skills professors want you to learn is how to pick a theses that is the right scope for the page limit. It might not be as applicable in the real world, but it's really important in acedemics, at least, to be able to moderate the size of your project by narrowing (or expanding) the scope of your argument.
