| Not at all flong. In fact, Michigan has not had to go to the waitlist in 4 of the last 5 years. The only exception was 2006. But this year looks like another year where Michigan will go to its waitlist. It has to do with caution. Most years, Michigan seem to underestimate its own appeal (as you did in the post above) and they accept more students than required. This year, as in 2006, Michigan accepted fewer students than required to make sure the yield does not pull another fast one! Once the University knows exactly how short they fell from their target, they will admit some from the waitlist. |
