Can I assume that you are getting some sort of aid/scholarship from RPI, so that the cost is somewhat equivalent? Binghamton is an excellent academic school and probably would provide a more "normal" social situation because of the M/F ratio. Also, since you're not totally sure about engineering, Binghamton may well give you more opportunity to study a broader range of courses. I have a number of adult friends who are Binghamton graduates and they have prospered in many careers. There are lawyers, nurses, actuaries and teachers in the bunch.
